Motivational(ly) Speaking

We asked more than 100 families how they help motivate their family members to get chores done.

Most families use a mixture of several tactics, but something fun for a job well done is definitely the most popular. It seems that if we know we can do something we enjoy at the end, we are more likely to get the job done.

Fun music while working and family reward systems are used by almost half of the families. And money surprisingly was the least used option.

Whatever the chore or job, it seems that making it fun and/or getting a reward at the the end gives us a little more motivation to get in there and get it done.
